Animal testing is a very controversial topic and I think it’s important that we do tests on animals before we do tests on humans.

First of all, animal testing helps us understand how to treat lethal diseases. In addition, we can find better treatments faster. That can save millions of lives every year. Here is an example. The reason we found the Covid-19 vaccine in one year was because of animal testing. The animals that they used for animal testing for COVID-19 was mice and rats, ferrets, monkey, hamsters and pigs. They also used sheep for the production and development of ventilators for patients with severe Covid-19 infections.
The way I see it, it is more beneficial to do research on animals than humans. One mouse might save millions of lives. I am not saying that we should torture animals. Because animal researchers around the world are trying their best to make minimal pain to the animals that they do research on.

To sum up, animal research has and will greatly decrease deaths. Animal testing has played a significant role in the corona pandemic with making the Covid-19 vaccine in record time. This is why I think animal testing has proven itself to be a great way to make medication, vaccines and treatments.
