Indiana also called The Hoosier State, is a state located in the midwest of USA. Indiana is the 15th most populated state in the USA with over 6,5 million people, approximately 50% lives in the state capital. The state name means the Indians land, the name is dated back to the 1760’s

The flag
Indianas flag is blue with a yellow torch and 19 stars. The flag of Indiana was designed by Paul Hadley and used by the state of Indiana since May 1917. The torch stands for liberty and enlightenment, the yellow lines represent their far reaching influence, the 13 stars in the circle represent the original 13 colonies. The half circle with 5 stars represents the 5 additional states that entered the union before Indiana , and the big star above the torch represents Indiana.

Indiana state motto
The official state motto of Indiana is ”crossroads of America” and has been used since 1937. The crossroads of America began as the nickname for the city of Indianapolis, since many big interstate highways meet here.

Indiana is the home to some of the most famous landmarks in the US, and is a state with a lot of culture and history, here you can visit the George Rogers Clark national historical park, the indiana dunes national park, or maybe the Norte dame football stadium
