Early career
When Marcus was five he played for Fletcher Moss Rangers and was goalkeeper for the team. Rashford’s goalkeeper idol was United goalkeeper Tim Howard.
Fletcher Moss Rangers academy development officer Dave Horrocks says Rashford was at a “different level” from the other boys on the team, playing a big role when the team won a tournament with 15 scouts from other teams.
He spent 7 days training with Manchester City before he joined the United’s academy system. He also had in interest from Everton and United’s rivals Liverpool, but he decided to stay with United.
In the 2013-2014 season Rashford trained with the first team for United and he described the training session ”priceless”.
