New Mexico is 1 out of the 50 states in the United States of America, and is known for its special food and attractions. In this article I will cover stuff like their flag, history, location and landmarks.

Location
New Mexico lays on the Southwest side of America, and sits in the middle of Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma and Arizona. Known for its rough and rocky landscape. New Mexico also has some greenery going on in the “desert wastelands”, and even though New Mexico may look like the Sahara, it also looks like a beautiful… A beautiful desert! ( I don’t known what i’m writing. ) New Mexico is also the 5. largest state in America, reaching over 120,000 square miles! For a better perspective, 120,000 square miles is over 310,800 square kilometers! ( Nahhh, that can’t be a good perspective. ) The invention of the Atomic Bomb was made in New Mexico.
Flag

The flag of New Mexico is a much easier flag to remember and draw, cause it’s only a yellow background with a red spiky looking star thingy in the middle. But the spiky star looking thingy actually has a much cooler meaning that you may think… The “star” itself represents the sun, and the middle represents life. And the spiky things poking out of it will represent the four seasons, ( Summer, Winter, Spring, Autumn. ) the four cycles of our day, ( Morning, Noon, Evening, Night. ) and the four cycles of life / growth. ( Childhood, Youth, Middle age, Old age. ) The symbol itself is called the “Zia” symbol, “and was first found on a water jar.”
Carlsbad Caverns
One of New Mexico’s most famous places is the cave of Carlsbad Caverns. The reason it is so famous is because of the layout of the rocks, and the cave itself. Inside you can find creatures like the Snake, Spider, Beetle, Fish, Bat, and much more. The cave stretches itself 313 meters down in the ground, which is the equivalent of the Eiffel Tower! ( And 13 more meters ) Each year, about 500,000 people visits the Caverns, which is about 25% of the people who lives in New Mexico.
